Beginning June 1, 2026, Karuizawa Town will impose an accommodation tax on guests staying within the town. Please note that the following accommodation tax rates will apply per person, per night, according to the room charge for your stay.

• For stays costing between 6,000 yen and 10,000 yen: Accommodation tax of 200 yen (100 yen for towns / 100 yen for prefectures)
• For stays costing between 10,000 yen and 100,000 yen: Accommodation tax of 250 yen (150 yen for towns / 100 yen for prefectures)
• For stays costing over 100,000 yen: Accommodation tax of 700 yen (600 yen for towns / 100 yen for prefectures)

* The taxable accommodation charge does not include food and beverage expenses or consumption tax.
* The above amounts are charged per person, per night.
